Las Vegas, Nev. – Bring Back Solar Alliance spokesperson Bob Greenlee released the following statement today providing an update on the Alliance’s mobilization efforts following the State caucuses:
“We are proud to announce that, in less than two months, the Bring Back Solar Alliance has mobilized 90,000 supporters to join the effort to bring back solar to Nevada. This incredible showing of support includes more than 18,000 Nevadans who committed to support the Alliance at the recent Democratic and Republican caucuses after candidates from both parties voiced their support for Nevada solar.
Since the Alliance formed in late January, we have asked Nevadans to commit to support our efforts in person and online. Over the last two weeks, the intensity of our support has grown more and more, especially after NV Energy admitted to creating a dummy-PAC to oppose our
efforts. Most Nevadans clearly refuse to accept NV Energy and the Public Utilities Commission’s misguided efforts to end net metering.
After a 93% decline in new applications in the first month since the Public Utilities Commission’s action, it has become clear that the Commission’s bad decision destroyed one of Nevada’s fastest growing job creators.
Our referendum will give the people the opportunity to undo the Public Utilities Commission’s mistake this November. We are proud that so many Nevadans understand the importance of this opportunity, and we look forward to crossing the 100,000 supporter milestone soon.”
The Bring Back Solar Alliance is the alliance that supports the No Solar Tax PAC. The No Solar Tax PAC is supported by Nevada citizens, homeowners, businesses, and not-forprofits, working together to bring back Nevada solar, clean energy jobs, and energy choice.
